Arabic Script Recognition involves familiarizing oneself with the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet, including their distinct forms depending on their position within a word: initial, medial, or final. Additionally, a basic understanding of vowel markings, known as Harakat, is essential. This foundational skill is often taught through the Qaida method, providing a systematic approach to learning.
Reading Fluency develops as learners progress from identifying individual letters to constructing words and gradually advancing to reading full sentences or Quranic verses with ease and fluidity. This step builds confidence and establishes a strong connection with the language.
Mastery of Tajweed Rules is central to ensuring proper pronunciation and recitation. This includes refining skills such as elongation techniques (Madd), producing nasal sounds with precision (Ghunnah), distinctly articulating specific letters like Nun (Idhhar), smoothly merging certain letter combinations (Idgham), and adhering to correct pauses and stops during recitation.
Makharij al-Huruf focuses on accurately producing each letter’s sound by understanding its articulation point. Whether the sound originates from the throat, tongue, or lips, this detailed knowledge ensures accurate pronunciation and preserves the authenticity of Arabic speech and recitation.
