Arabic Course

Course overview

What the course aims to do

  • Build solid reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in Arabic, from beginner to advanced.

  • Focus on either Modern Standard Arabic, Quranic Arabic, or a mix, depending on your program.

How the course is structured:

  • Divided into levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) with clear learning outcomes at each stage.
  • Each level includes interactive lessons, vocabulary practice, grammar explanations, dialogues, and short readings.
  • Classes are usually weekly live sessions plus guided self‑study (exercises, recordings, quizzes) to reinforce skills.

Curriculum and structure
Level structure
  • Intro / Alphabet: Recognizing letters, vowels, joining, and reading simple words; very beginners and kids.
  • Beginner: Everyday vocabulary, basic grammar (pronouns, simple verbs, nominal/verbal sentences), short dialogues and texts.
  • Intermediate: Stronger grammar (tenses, plurals, cases), paragraph reading, short essays, and longer conversations about daily and Islamic topics.
  • Advanced: Complex texts, rich vocabulary, essay writing, presentations, and discussion of history, culture, and Quranic/Islamic content.
Core curriculum components
  • Reading & writing: From vowelled words to longer, unvowelled texts; correct spelling and handwriting/typing.
  • Vocabulary building: Thematically organized units (family, worship, school, stories, Qur’an themes) with hundreds of high‑frequency words.
  • Grammar & morphology: Nouns, verbs, gender, number, cases, verb patterns, sentence structures; for Quranic Arabic, focus on forms common in the Mushaf.
  • Listening & speaking: Dialogues, role‑plays, and audio exercises to practice pronunciation and real‑life communication.

  • Quranic focus (if chosen): High‑frequency Quran vocabulary, parsing simple verses, and seeing how grammar explains meanings.
Typical course flow
  • Weekly live classes plus 3–5 hours of guided self‑study (homework, quizzes, reading and listening tasks).

  • Regular assessments at the end of each level to test reading, grammar, listening, and speaking before moving up.

Key Points

Teachers and teaching style

Teachers

The Arabic Course is taught by qualified native or near‑native Arabic teachers who specialize in teaching Arabic to non‑native speakers, including children and adults at all levels. They combine clear pronunciation, strong grammar knowledge, and an understanding of Islamic and everyday contexts, so students learn authentic, useful Arabic they can actually use.

Teaching style

Teaching style is interactive and communicative, with live one‑to‑one or small‑group sessions that balance speaking, listening, reading, and writing in every lesson. Teachers use child‑friendly activities for younger learners and more structured conversation and text work for teens and adults, while adapting pace and materials to each student’s goals and learning style.

How online Quran session works
1. Enrolment and level placement
  • You choose a course track (Modern Standard, Quranic, or mixed) and register through the website.
  • Many platforms give an orientation or placement test so a tutor can recommend the right level for your current skills and goals.
2. Live classes and self‑study
  • Lessons are usually held via Zoom or an in‑built classroom, with a teacher explaining vocabulary, grammar, and dialogues, then practicing speaking and reading with you.
  • Between classes, you complete interactive exercises, quizzes, and homework using videos, audio recordings, and texts available 24/7 on the platform.
3. Flexible scheduling and pacing
  • You can often choose between one‑to‑one or small‑group classes, and select days/times that fit your schedule.
  • Courses are organized in levels; when you finish a level and pass its assessment, you progress to the next, building skills step by step at your own pace.
